The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the performance and enjoyment of music as played on the accordion, concertina, melodian, bandonian, and harmonica. This purpose will be achieved by strengthening our relationship with fellow musicians, expanding our knowledge of the accordion and accordion playing, and by devoloping various musical programs to acquaint the general public with the educational and entertainment values of the above-mentioned reed instruments.
We are a music appreciation organization. We are non profit and educational in our goals. We provide complimentary introductory accodion lessons and resources for learning, and for improving the skills necessary for musical enjoyment of the accodion.
We conduct monthly meetings on the first Saturday of each month. Our meetings include pre-meeting music, a brief business meeting, and then we feature a respected guest performer from Wisconsin or one of our neighbouring states. There is considerable talent within our membership and it is our goal to showcase our members' abilities during our meetings. Our meetings are open to the public and to any visitor who would like to learn about the accordion.
The club hopes to promote a variety of accordion performance styles including standards, classical, polkas, jazz, and ethnic music as performed on the accodion. We offer a variety of accordion related mujsical events including guest performances, picnics, parties, jam sessions, sales events, and lessons for our members and for the public.
Each year we offer a Christmas concert featuring an accordionist of national stature. The club also provides a monthly newsletter to its members, which includes information about our own club activities, and the activities of other accordion clubs and organizations. The newsletter features accordion festivals, conventions, competitions, and sales of music related items.
You don't have to be an accordionist to enjoy the benefits of being a member of the Northeast Wisconsin Accordion Club. If you appreciate the great sounds and fine music that can be created with the accordion, then this club is for you ! Our annual membership dues are only $10 September to September. To join mail a check for $10 to: Northeast Wisconsin Accordion Club, 2076 West Vista Circle, De Pere, Wi. 54115 For further information call: Adam Rok (920-336-2053)
